Latest News: 9/3/08: Construction Update:
We finished construction on our docking structure today, connected all dock sections and installed cradles for the FJs. The FJs will be moved to the waterfront tomorrow. A special thanks goes out to Michael Claudon, Dan Brayton, and Alan Koglmeier for their help with our construction project and to all of the donors who made this possible.
9/2/08: Midd Sailing hosts MiddView Trips:
Middlebury Sailing hosted two MiddView first-year orientation sailing days. Freshmen used the newly revamped 420 fleet and enjoyed windy and sunny days. Everyone learned the basics of sailing and a good time was had by all.
8/30/08: Construction Update: Our new fleet has arrived! The FJ fleet has all of its names and numbers in place, sails have been labeled and rerolled, and masts and booms have been unpacked. The fleet will be moved to the water and rigged in the next few days. Three docks are in the water, three more are nearly completed. The 420s revamp has also begun, they will get a good scrubbing, new sails, rigging, and hiking straps. More pictures and updates to come later in the week...
8/4/08: The Big Move: Middlebury Sailing will move to Lake Dunmore for the uncoming season. The club will lease space from Dunmore Acres, on the southern end of the lake. The club plans will make some infrastructure improvements to the property, details and pictures to come later.
5/9/08: THE BOAT HATH BEEN ROCKED! We are pleased to report the successful conclusion of the Rock the Boat campaign. We have now raised $92,330. We will have a fleet of 12 brand new FJs for next fall's season. Thank you to everyone who donated! For more information see the campaign page.
